Ok, so we have a kid TV limit of 1 hour max at our house. Call it child development paranoia:) This limit is particularly challenging when they are approaching tantrum levels that would rival Napoleon in one of his crankier moods (and boy, could he throw a tantrum w/ the best!) Case in point, today, after four days cooped up in a house w/ only their own toys for entertainment and no hope of venturing outside due to a freezing, unpleasant substance inadequately described as "rain," the fit level was raised from yellow orange (orange being slightly below every parent's red zone nightmare. lol) In a moment of absolute geniusness I seized upon two popsicle sticks and all 4 available colors of curling ribbon...these simple tools were soon transformed into a new, shiny Christmas pom-pom for each toddler! Oh, the JOY and utter DELIGHT transfiguring my children's faces as they grasped a Pom in each hand! So here, in unaltered form is the how-to formula for these marvels:
Step 1: gather up various colors of curling ribbon and one popsicle stick per pom to be made.
Step 2: Tie lengths about 12in. long to sticks.
Step 3: Curl all ribbon attached. (note: ic you, like I, have a child who is particularly proficient in demolishing any crafty type thing--add tape or glue to make the tied on ribbon more secure!)
Step 4: Hand pom=pom to child...enjoy the peace:)
