A Smooth One-Liner

Oh, dear. Huston we may have a problem in another 10 or so years...allow me to set the stage for you:

Some amazing friends of ours brought over what can only be called a miracle in a meal a week ago and stayed to help us eat it and to ohh/ahh over little Mia:) (always a worthy endeavor) They have three kids, we have three kids. Seems like a done deal- we are meant to be together--that sort of thing:) Their eldest little girl is 4 and (as she told us several times) has a new cute haircut (well, it was pretty cute at that.)

Will decided it was his civic duty to show her around the house which included an introduction to Alec, the Betta. Cute little haircut girl is being polite and says "that's a pretty fish! He's so pretty!" Will picks right up on that one boy, "yeah, he's so pretty....YOU so pretty."

I"m thinking he was drawn in by the haircut, or maybe her blue eyes, but that one line right there guaranteed she was the star and had found herself a new (hugging, poking, chasing) shadow for the evening. :) It was love...at least until she tried to take his truck.

Stalkers and "stalkers"

Catchy title, no?
It has recently come to my attention (recently meaning the last 2 weeks we've been waiting for this babe to show up.) that there are two very different kind of stalker in the world. Type C) the creepy, criminally, corrupted kind, and type W) the well-intentioned, welcoming, wonderfully available kind. The first category I'm thinking is fairly self explanatory, so on to the second! This second group is usually a mix of family, friends and various acquaintances who find their way into your text, phone and email inbox almost every day while waiting for the comeuppance of some long expected event--i'm talking, of course, about the arrival of baby #3:)

So while we continue to assure you all that no, she hasn't arrived as yet; and yes, we promise to tell you when she does...know we 1)love you dearly, 2)realize how blessed we are to have so very many people who care for our family enough to go out of their way asking after the new babe and 3) we know that deep...deep down you are all rather normal people and will probably turn back into them once you get to meet this newest addition:) heehee!

In all seriousness folks, thank you for your love and for stalking us! We owe the world to those such as YOU!

Sanity Savers- Christmas Pom-Poms

Ok, so we have a kid TV limit of 1 hour max at our house. Call it child development paranoia:) This limit is particularly challenging when they are approaching tantrum levels that would rival Napoleon in one of his crankier moods (and boy, could he throw a tantrum w/ the best!) Case in point, today, after four days cooped up in a house w/ only their own toys for entertainment and no hope of venturing outside due to a freezing, unpleasant substance inadequately described as "rain," the fit level was raised from yellow orange (orange being slightly below every parent's red zone nightmare. lol) In a moment of absolute geniusness I seized upon two popsicle sticks and all 4 available colors of curling ribbon...these simple tools were soon transformed into a new, shiny Christmas pom-pom for each toddler! Oh, the JOY and utter DELIGHT transfiguring my children's faces as they grasped a Pom in each hand! So here, in unaltered form is the how-to formula for these marvels:
Step 1: gather up various colors of curling ribbon and one popsicle stick per pom to be made.
Step 2: Tie lengths about 12in. long to sticks.
Step 3: Curl all ribbon attached. (note: ic you, like I, have a child who is particularly proficient in demolishing any crafty type thing--add tape or glue to make the tied on ribbon more secure!)
Step 4: Hand pom=pom to child...enjoy the peace:)

First Civilities and Introductions

Hello my ardent and enraptured readers! To forewarn you, this is not set up in "term paper" format, but rather will (hopefully) follow one mainstream of ideas w/ slight (please select from the following nouns) deviations, tangents, branches or footnotes tucked in:) I find myself consistently hurtling along this zip-line time of life w/ no pen handy (and no one near by w/ one either oddly enough) to jot down those most essential quirks that seem to make it all up. Hence, a little blog time--and also hence (would that be double the hencing?) this most witty, alluring and brow quirking of blog titles.
Since you have followed me to a new paragraph, here is a slight moment of background info. I am the mother of two very clever, social, outgoing kids ages 3 and 17mos. And am due with baby number 3 (daughter #2) in 8.5 hours (aka this sunday). Which would imply that those other two clever, social, outgoing kids are currently utilizing mom's massiveness and complete inability to move quickly quite to their advantage. I am married to one man most people refer to as Matt, co-own one betta fish (a present for our son's 3rd bday), live in one house that was (oddly enough) painted two clashing colors by the previous owners and have attained the venerated age of 23 years!
Lacking a handy pen, I shall endevor to plop my thoughts in a semi-understandable manner here for your reading/commenting enjoyment...The End.
